Currently there are two distinct types of colon irrigation systems. These are Open or Closed systems. The International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT) supports the use of either type of equipment. The colonic device pictured above is an FDA registered OPEN SYSTEM device.

What to Expect:

When you book an appointment for a colonic, you'll be asked to fill out a short Health History Questionnaire and Consent Form. Trish will review this with you and then take you into the treatment room and explain the process to you. You'll be given a gown and left alone in the room to undress to make sure you're completely comfortable.

Next, you'll lie down on the treatment bed and glide yourself onto a tiny sterile rectal tube made of soft flexible plastic with a rounded tip. It's about the size of a drinking straw. Your hips will be at the edge of the basin so that intestinal waste falls easily into it. When you're ready, Trish will come into the room and start the session.

It begins with a slow, gentle flow of water into your colon.  You'll eventually feel the need to eliminate. And at that time you'll push out. This process repeats itself throughout the 45 minute session.

Water gently flows into your colon and stimulates its natural peristaltic action to release softened waste. And removal of waste encourages better colon function.

During the therapy, water temperature and flow will be monitored. And they can be varied to stimulate peristalsis (muscular contraction) in your colon. This is vital to relax and soothe a sluggish colon.

During a typical colon hydrotherapy session, gallons of water are transported into and out of your colon. If you're comfortable enough, Trish can assist you with a combination of abdominal massage, breathing instructions, and relaxation techniques. She's often able to help stimulate elimination of even more toxic waste than you might do on your own.

Just one colon hydrotherapy session might provide the benefits of many regular bowel movements. And follow-up sessions can help even more as older, hardened, impacted feces are dislodged from your colon walls.

A
fter your first hydrotherapy session don't be surprised if you feel much more energetic with an increased sense of well-being and renewed vitality.

Your colon will be cleaner, and you can experience easier eliminations. Colon hydrotherapy provides a proven way to cleanse your colon so you can increase your chances of maintaining optimal health. Of course, that's in addition to maintaining an overall healthy
lifestyle with a sensible diet, plenty of clean water, fresh air, sunshine, and exercise.
